The brief

In need of a reliable new roofing system that would stand the test of time, CK Facilities Management enrolled us to help with refurb works at Lambeth Community Centre.

The centre operates as a community health hub providing care through its amputee rehabilitation unit and acupuncture clinic, as well as services via its neuro-rehabilitation enhanced transition and podiatry teams. The building had an old roof system that was in desperate need of an upgrade. The old roof was repaired several times but continued to leak and needed swift refurbishment to ensure minimal disruption to the patients using the services.

We conducted a site visit and discussed the best approach to take with the team at CK Facilities Management to ensure the most effective recommendation.

The solution

Given the issues with the longevity and reliability of the previous roof, it was essential our recommendation was robust.

The roof needed to be both coated and waterproofed, and for this we recommended the P500 liquid coating. With a 25-year guarantee, the coating provides a continuous, seamless membrane-like finish and is extremely durable – offering unmatched reliability over the long-term. The liquid roof system can also improve thermal performance and is perfect for application to roofing with detailed elements, such as the roof at Lambeth Community Centre.

Liquid solutions are also suitable to cover a variety of different surfaces and can significantly reduce the cost of removing the original roof.
